Great service. Answered my call on the first try. Immediately got to work on board and care referrals after assessing the situation. Respectful and caring attitude. Understood the time sensitive need for long term care placement directly from hospital. Within two hours I was provided seven options within the parameters I described to include locations, prices, bed capacity and owner information. AND I was given a written itinerary for scheduled tours the following day. Once my decision was made, they communicated with facility owner and hospital discharge planner. I simply could not have done this without this service. Bravo to Second Home!!

Thanks to Justin Acuna of Second Home we were able to find the perfect Home quickly and efficiently for our 92 year-old mother who has dementia. He is highly knowledgeable about elderly people's needs and senior care facilities in our area. He has very good relationships with all the owners and managers who run them. This means he has developed great instincts about finding the right fit for the right client in the right care home. After getting to know our needs, he set up and met us for several tours, answered all of our many questions, and guided us through the entire process with ease. There are literally hundreds of places in our area we could've visited, but Justin has a knack for narrowing down the field to the best ones for the individual so that this process doesn't have to be arduous. We visited only places that were a good fit for our particular situation, selected the best one, and the results were stellar.

Mike Acuna of Second Home did an incredible job for me. My mom with advanced dementia was in a hospital room for 2 days when I received a call saying that the doctor had ordered a discharge into a skilled nursing home for my mom (This turned out to be false). I was told I had 24 hours to find a place for my mom if I did not want her to end up in a skilled nursing facility. I was fortunate enough to have someone direct me to the services provided by Second Home. Within 2 hours of speaking to Mike, he had set up 3 tours for the following morning and an email invitation to tour 3 locations a bit further away. He asked all the pertinent questions necessary to find a good fit (preferred location, the type of living situation desired, my mom's age and level of care needed, and my budget). Luckily for me, the first tour met everything I was looking for in a group home. All this was accomplished within 24 hours of the call from the discharge person at the hospital. What Mike managed to do was miraculous, but he topped it off by constantly being in touch to make sure everything was progressing smoothly.

I started looking for a care home for my mom on my own in the Torrance are of California. It was quite daunting since there is no comprehensive lists of care homes anywhere. A friend happened to provide me Justin's number so I called him, not really realizing what he did. Second Home has listings of care homes and can help you find the right one. This was a real godsend to me. I gave him mom's history, my price range and I had a list of 8 homes to contact within 24 hours. Plus I got other emails directly from other care homes. We interviewed 6, went to 4 and we then finalized our pick. Mom has been in her new home now for 2 weeks and is starting to thrive. Coming from a nursing home environment that treated her like a number, she is now in a home with only a few other residents and getting lots of attention. She lost 20 pounds at the nursing home. Now that she is in a real home that cooks homemade meals, her appetite has come back and she is looking and doing great and is positive about the future. This was the best thing we ever did for her and I could not have done it without Second Home. I am forever grateful for their help finding a wonderful home for my mother.

Second Home is and has been the most reliable business I have ever worked with. I got acquainted with them several years ago when I was searching for an assisted living facility for my brother. The compassion they showed, the knowledge they had of the industry was overwhelming. That was approximately ten years ago and my brother resides at the facility they recommended to this day.
